Outdoor Movie Night
SMPO is hosting an outdoor family movie night Friday, September 25. We’d love a bit of help with concession sales. The movie is free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person/$20 per family.
The movie night directly supports the 6th grade Camp Kern Scholarship Fund. You can give also directly to this general fund by donating.

Basketball Registration
SANDS BASKETBALL REGISTRATION - OPENS SATURDAY, 9/19 9:00 AM!
Basketball is open to Sands students (boys and girls) grades 2 through 6. Our teams participate in the Cincinnati Premier Youth Basketball League, which consists of schools from all over Greater Cincinnati.
Registration will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 9:00 am and end on October 4, 2026 at 6:00 pm.

Teams will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis according to availability. There will be approximately 9 players per team. Teams may fill up before the deadline, so please register ASAP. If teams fill up, the player will be placed on a wait list.

6-9 and 9-12 Classroom Open House
Open House "Extras"
Have a 6th grader? Both Clark and Walnut HIlls Principals will be at the Sands Open House at 5:15pm to speak with Sands families. Come ask questions!
CPS Chaperone Badges: A CPS rep will also be at Open House to take information for any Sands caregivers who are in need of a chaperone badge. This is a great time to get this done and avoid going downtown for the security check and the board of ed. Chaperone badges are needed for caregivers who will be with students alone, like a zoo field trip group, or overnight Camp Kern this year for example.

You’re invited to meet the new leader of our school at a special meet and greet opportunity! Come connect, ask questions, and learn about the new Sands principal. This event will be held at Sands.
Last Day of School & Transition Day
Last day of the 2025-2026 school year at Sands Montessori. Students in Kindergarten and 3rd grade visit their new classroom community for the next school year.
Playdate at the Playscape
Join other members of the Sands community for an informal hangout after school.
One Friday a month we will host a Playdate at the Playscape after school (4-5:30 pm) for children to have unstructured free play, while parents can relax and be in community with each other.
